Because building a new stadium takes ages and they can't be arsed waiting anymore, Liverpool have decided to make Anfield bigger. Why the fuck wasn't this an option before.
Football teams make a lot of money from ticket revenue and if you have more seats you make more profit. That's just science. Previously Liverpool had planned to build something at Stanley Park and maybe share with Everton but are now just going to build more, somehow, and make the stadium a 60,000 seater instead of a 46,000ish. Honestly I don't understand why they didn't just do this years ago. This is like how I moan all the time about not being a successful writer on comedy tv shows and then realise that I've never actually sent any scripts to anyone, nor made any effort to contact anyone ever. At all. And still my phone doesn't ring. And my car's broken now. MY LIFE IS RUINED
