Owen thinks he should have left earlier

Michael Owen has admitted that he probably should have left Manchester United slightly earlier but I suspect he might not really care that much because..... horses

Owen has a shockingly amazing goal scoring record and if it weren't for the fact that the game has arguably changed slightly in the last few years to the extent that a small, poaching forward isn't as valuable as say....... anyone else in the team, he might have had a better time at Man United.  Miroslav Klose is pretty similar but he's actually good so he gets away with it.  But then you look at Owen's scoring record and he's like the 9th highest scorer for England ever.  It's ridiculous.  Anyway
"I was on the bench a lot of the time, but then when the manager says 'you have a big role to play and we want you to stay for another year', it was great to hear that from someone like Sir Alex Ferguson."
Ahh so that's why.  If it's not playing time or money giving him sustenance, it's gentle whispers in his ear to repair that damaged ego.  I'd like to say that I don't know why I'm being such a dick about Michael Owen but I could probably figure it out if I really thought hard enough.  But I'm on holiday so whatever
