The Olympics women's final was last night and USA beat Japan 2-1 to win the gold medal.
The women's football has actually been of a really high standard in this tournament and I'm not even being sarcastic. The goalkeepers, as we've mentioned before, haven't been spectacular, but the games have been of a good tempo with well taken goals, great build up play and obvious passion. The other thing that we should note from this tournament is that 80,000 people turned up to watch this final, so it's clearly a sport on the up, and that can only be good for the game. Also, the other best point about women's football as opposed to mens', is that the ladies in question don't roll around the floor screaming when another player touches them. Unless it's in an alleyway
