UEFA announced its Best Player in Europe award yesterday or the day before and shockingly Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta are all nominated.
Clearly Messi is the greatest player in the world right now, and he has to be quite good to win these awards because Ronaldo also kinda deserves them and keeps finishing second. He must be wondering what more he has to do to be the best player in the world, having scored 66 goals in 61 games last season. That's absolutely insane - it's like Cherno Samba stats in the old Championship Manager but in real life, yet still Messi's are better. I'm pretty sure the only reasonable explanation for how good he's turned out is that Pep Guardiola played with the data editor before he started managing. I'm kinda surprised that Dennis Nedry hasn't tried to sell his DNA yet.
