Falcao wins the Falcao Cup

Atletico Madrid played Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League Final tonight and we expected goals from both sides. Bilbao didn't really turn up but unfortunately for them Radamel Falcao did.

It ended Madrid 3-0 Bilbao and Falcao got himself another two goals in the tournament. The man just bloody loves the Europa League and he now has 82 goals and five winners medals in just two seasons, which really is incredible.

Taking the piss of the Bilbao defenders all night, his first goal came after just seven minutes. He did a little step-over to make himself a yard but ended up making two as he turned the defenders legs into jelly- then curled a beautiful left-footed effort into the top corner from the right-edge of the box. He made it 2-0 with another bit of brilliant individual skill. Receiving the ball about six yards out, he did a little drag-back/180 on the ball with his right foot (leaving a player on his arse) and hammered home with his left foot. Unfortunately he hit the post and missed out on a hattrick. I don't think he will sleep tonight. Diego scored the third in the 85th minute, by then the Bilbao defenders had completely given up on tackling. He ran through from about 35 yards out before finishing well with is left foot across the keeper.

Atletico won, some people cheered, some people cried, lots of people said, "wow Falcao is rather good " and Man City wrote out a blank cheque in preparation for the transfer window opening. Now let's all go for pizza and ice-cream, my treat.
