I imagine that is the face that Jonathan, I mean Alan pulled as he started to read the Tweets he was receiving. Any comment about Hillsborough to Liverpool fans is the equivalent of waving a red flag in front of a bull or a salad in front of Michelle McManus. Davies has a football podcast and in the most recent one had a go at Liverpool and their refusal to play on the anniversary of Hillsborough. Did it makes Liverpool fans angry? You bet it did.
Liverpool's refusal to play on April 15th has led to Chelsea being forced to play Spurs on a Sunday - leaving Chelsea with a whole three days to prepare for Barcelona in the Champions League. If you didn't know, Barcelona are quite good at football, they can even score goals. I'll quote him, that makes life easier.
"Liverpool and the 15th, that gets on my tits that shit. What are you talking about, 'We won't play on the day'? Why can't they? My mum died on 22 August. I don't stay in all day on 22 August. Do they play on the date of the Heysel Stadium disaster? How many dates do they not play on? Do Man United play on the date of Munich? Do Rangers play on the date when all their fans died in that disaster whatever year that was – 1971?"He then proceeded to do a terrible impression of shite-hawk Kenny Dalglish. As expected it didn't take long for death threats and comedy outrage to flood his Twitter page. Davies made a perfectly valid point and defended himself, pointing out that he knows it was a terrible tragedy and showed his support by donating £1,000 to the Hillsborough Justice Campaign. It is ridiculous that they refuse to play on April the 15th, now to stand back and watch the hate pour in.
How could anyone want Alan Davies to die? He does have really shit hair but who would play the village idiot on QI if he was dead? Have some perspective people please.
