English? Fancy playing for Scotland?

Craig Levein has revealed that the FA are getting pissed off at him recruiting young English players to play for Scotland. He doesn't give a fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

I care so little for international friendlies that I didn't even know Scotland were playing Slovenia on the 29th until I read about this. That chap above is Matt Phillips. He is 20 years old, plays for Blackpool and is 100% English. He is in the Scotland squad. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Phillips has played for England u20s and the u19s. He is rated pretty highly by Ian Holloway but to be honest, I've hardly seen anything of Blackpool so I have no idea if he's any good. Levein is going down the "I don't care where they are from as long as they are better than our Scottish shite" road in order to qualify for Brazil in 2014. Phillips is the 7th English born player in the squad so techincally we could start a team that is 7/11 English, which sounds rather ludicrous. He has also enquired about Shelvey, McEachran and Steven Caulker. Plus there is Jordan Rhodes waiting in the wings so that's pretty much an entire team right there.

At least we would qualify. Although at the tournament we would be completely terrible and then get knocked out on penalties in the quarter finals. Perhaps with so many English players our fans will adopt an English attitude? We will start booing our own players and throw chairs through pub windows. I don't think Levein has thought this through.

Craig Levein said,
"Who is to say that Matt isn’t any more patriotic towards Scotland than half the people who live in Scotland?”
A nonsense question really that has no value and no answer. It made me think of this-
