Newcastle's 3-0 loss against Chelsea on Saturday not only marked the end of the Toon Army's extended party in the top four of the Premier League but also rather sexily included two injuries to defenders Fabricio Coloccini and Steven Taylor.
Shooter McGavin is rumoured to be on the sidelines for about six weeks and Coloccini for however long a thigh injury takes. A chicken is like half an hour in the oven so probably about that long. The injuries are pretty much guaranteed to ensure the Magpies slide down the table in the next few games because James Perch is set to take Taylor's place and I'm not sure if you've ever seen James Perch play football before but he's not very good. Still, if football doesn't work out for him at least he has his looks.
Alan Pardew is probably getting his gun ready as we speak.
