Sami Hyppia has died

Oh actually he's just retired, it's Osama Bin Laden that's dead!  USA!  USA!

The BBC writes:

Former Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen defender Sami Hyypia has retired from playing football at the age of 37.
The Finnish centre-back played for the Reds for a decade after signing from Dutch club Willem II in 1999.
During his time at Anfield he was part of a team who won an historic FA Cup, League Cup and Uefa Cup treble in 2001, and the Champions League in 2005.
"The decision to retire grew during the season," said Hyypia, who will now take up a coaching role at Leverkusen.
Hyppia is yet another of a small breed of likeable footballers so hopefully he goes on to be an awesome manager or coach.  I don't begrudge Hyppia any of the money he's made, nor trophies that he's won, which is new for me because I'm a total dick.  Hyppia on the other hand got the captaincy stripped of him at Anfield and given to Steven Gerrard, and do you know what the first thing he did was?  Congratulate him.  If that was Eric Cantona he would have karate kicked his face, whinged about the price of croissants and babbled incomprehensible bollocks about seagulls and sparrows before leaving on a plane to Hollywood to try and be more like Vinnie Jones.

In other news Osama Bin Laden is dead but there are no pictures of that at all and it hasn't got much to do with football
