Man City transfer target this week: Xavi

Manchester City's billionaire owners are so rich that they might as well be Disney villains:

According the The Daily Mirror, who haven't gotten a single transfer rumour correct since we started this blog:
Manchester City are to offer Barcelona lynchpin Xavi a massive final payday to end his career at Eastlands.
And that will be bad news for Arsenal, as it would leave a Cesc Fabregas-shaped vacancy in the Barca midfield.
City are determined to kick on after clinching a top four finish - which will see them enter the Champions League for the first time next season - and they want to be recognised as among the elite of the game.
I would absolutely fucking love it if Xavi went to City.  This is one player who actually deserves to be paid million £s a week and to win trophies because he genuinely enjoys playing football.  Not only would other awesome footballers all move to Manchester because he was there but Man City would either win everything a club possibly can and ruin football, or bankrupt the Premier League somehow (I'm not very good at maths) and ruin football transfer deadline day forever.  Either way, the only thing that can happen at City from now on is funny so I'm all for it.
